No-Limit Holdem Fullring is currently the most popular game in online poker. The reason is maybe that most poker on TV is No-Limit Holdem.
The name No-Limit is not entirely correct. No-Limit Holdem means that the maximum you can put at risk is the money you have at the table. So Stack-Limit Holdem would be a little bit correcter.
The dangerous thing for new players is that you deposit $50 at your first online poker site and you can sit down then at a NL50 table (which is a clear error - bankroll management will be discussed in all our strategy articles).
You are dealt pocket Aces in the Big Blind and the Button raises to $2.
You correctly reraise to $6 and the Button goes allin.
After a small thought you correctly call with the rest of your chips and the button shows pocket kings.
On the flop you see a king and your hand doesn't improve.
As a result you've lost your whole bankroll in the first hand and you are broke ( from a poker view) although your play was correct..
That's what is happening every day in online poker.
Your error was not that you've played your hand wrong, the error was that you've put your whole bankroll at risk with the wrong table level.
Correct would have been to start with NL$1 or NL$2 and then slowly improve your bankroll and step up in the levels.
But No-Limit Holdem is not only risky, it is also a lot of fun!
You can:
We will show you here the BigStack Strategy. This means you will buy-in always with 100 Big Blinds and then try with an aggressive game style to extract the maximum from passive players.
